Good morning everyone. Lots to report from Washington. I visited my truck yesterday to see the progress. Here are a few photos to let you share little by little.
I should have a finished kitchen by next week. At that point, we start work on the outside of the truck with my logo. If you haven’t heard about the food truck movement in the States, take a look at the new movie, Chef (although he has a truck fully on the road with a couple of days, reality is that it takes months to get the truck in good shape, get licenses etc. Plus, I’d love to have Gary Clark, Jr. playing outside my truck to draw customers). At least you’ll see the enthusiasm that surrounds the new industry.
I’ve been asked to participate in Summer Peach & Wine Fest and do a cooking demonstration. I plan to use the great local peaches in a peach tiramisu. I’ll also be selling olive oil cake, biscotti, Giachi olive oil and Amedei chocolates. This all happens at an historic railroad station. Should be lots of fun to share the wonderful products from Italy.
My balcony is lush with bloom. There are four baby lemons on my little tree. Here are some current photos.
On top of all this, one of my best friends has asked me to be her wedding planner. The event will take place October 18 and it going to be in a beautiful historic mansion now used as an art gallery. I’ll keep you apprised of developments on this front.
Going to taste chocolate cakes today! Tough job but somebody has to do it.
See you next month!
